Who will repair my car under third party fire and theft cover?
Under a third party fire and theft policy the cost of repairs to your vehicle are not covered. Your solicitor will be instructed, to pursue your claim against the responsible drivers insurers.
Do I have cover for my personal effects?
Unfortunately there is no cover for personal effects under a third party fire and theft policy. You may want to check your property policy for any all risks cover on expensive items.
What happens if my vehicle is not repairable?
Your vehicle will be inspected by an engineer and you will be made an offer by the responsible drivers insurers based on the engineers valuation. The vehicle will remain your property and a small deduction will be made from the offer for the salvage value.
Who pays the storage charges?
If you car is at a garage it will almost certainly be incurring a daily storage charge and you will be initially responsible for this cost. You will need to inform your solicitor and remove your car as soon as possible.
Can I hire a car?
Under most circumstances any reasonable hire chargeswill be recovered for you (if you are not to blame for the accident).
Will my no claims bonus be affected?
If you were not at fault, your insureres will not have to make any payment and so your no claims bonus will not be affected.
What happens to my vehicle once it is written-off?
Your insureres will arrange for the vehicle to be collected and stored safely until an agreed value. If you have not already taken your personal effects from the vehicle your insureres will arrange for them to be returned to you.

What are the benefits of using the endsleigh repair service inder a fully comp policy?
If you chose to use an Endsleigh approved repairer to repair your car you will get a free courtesy car during the repairs and the work will be guaranteed for 5 years. If you want to use your own repairer or if it is a motorcycle that has been damaged then unfortunately no courtesy vehicle can be provided.
Will I have to pay an excess? If so how and when?
Most policies have an excess for accidental or vandalism damage. The insureres repair service will be happy to calculate yours when you ring them. The excess must be paid to the repairer, once the work is done to your satisfaction, even if you are not responsible for the incident causing the damage. The good news is the insurers can claim the excess back from the person who caused the accident if you are not to blame. Keep the receipt.
Who decides if my vehicle can be repaired?
A nationwide network of motor assessors estimate the cost of the damage being repaired and if the amount makes repair uneconomical then they will send your insurer a report detailing the vehicles value. The assessors are fully qualified and independent, they are not employed by the insurance company.
How do you decide what value to offer me?
Endsleigh always try to offer a fair price and are willing to look at any evidence you may have if you want them to review their valuation. Each vehicle is valued on it own merits, using trade guides, internet searches and the local market for the make and model involved.
